Spooled Up Performance has the Banks Power 42266-D Ram-Air Intake System With Dry Filter that will help increase airflow into the engine in your 2020-2023 GM 6.6L Duramax L5P 2500/3500. With the L5P Duramax engines, GM has further restricted the allowable range for induction tuning. To counter this, Banks has engineered a patented Air Mass Control Module that allows this intake design to go beyond the factory limitations for truly unmatched airflow performance.

Your 6.6L engine will breathe easily and cleanly with a Big-Ass filter, a huge induction tube, and a unique bellowed silicone coupler to allow for engine movement while tapering down to increase air density. The enclosed airbox design keeps power-robbing heat out and attaches to the OEM hood and front ram air scoops for even better performance at speed on the highway. An extra side inlet opens to the wheel well for a strong induction note sound as well as additional fresh air.

Patented Electronics
The ECM (Engine Control Module) in the Duramax monitors air mass and pressure so closely that any deviation from stock can result in a check engine light. This means most aftermarket intakes flow the same as stock with no real gains. The patented Banks Air Mass Control Module allowed the engineers to design past this electronic constraint. In other words, Banks is not limited by stock airflow limitations.

Unrivaled Size & Capacity
The all-new Ram-Air cold air intake system's large organic shape eliminates all turbulence and restrictions to the turbo. The radical new design allows for a massive 58% gain in Mass Air Flow over the factory intake system.
The oversized Big-Ass filter offer increased dust capacity giving you more miles between services and it flows freely long after the factory filter is clogged with debris. The huge filter outlet smoothly tapers down providing the maximum gains in air density.

Your Stock Intake Is Restrictive
The Duramax OEM Air Box is a bulky multi-piece design with harsh bends & corners and is designed for dust collection, not performance. The air path is compromised by silencers and resonators to keep engine noise at a minimum.
While the stock intake design does have inlets that mate to the hood's air scoop, its square filter & S-shaped flow path create turbulence and drag to the intake system lowering Mass Air Flow.

The Devil's In The Details
The Banks Ram-Air system features a durable heat-resistant Cross-Linked Polyethylene enclosure with a smooth organic shape. These features maximize cool air volume around the filter and maintain air density into the box itself.
The top hood scoop duct now deposits directly into the airbox chamber improving the ram-air effect at speed. A side fender inlet away from engine heat further reduces the pressure drop in the intake system while also letting you hear your turbo better.

Exclusive Bellows Free Performance
The factory-style bellows induce drag to the intake. This extra turbulence affects the boundary layer on the inside of the intake decreasing the effective diameter for air to flow through. The huge tapering intake elbow with exclusive through-bellows slide over the Banks Super-Tube allowing unobstructed airflow into the turbo and free engine movement. The elbow is made from EPDM synthetic rubber instead of silicone for greater environmental resistance and strength against damage or collapse under vacuum.

Air Mass Matters
The greater the air mass entering your engine, the less fuel your diesel engine will consume. That also means less engine heat going into the coolant system and engine oil since it is not working as hard to make the same horsepower. In other words, enhanced fuel economy and less strain on the engine itself!
Yes, airflow (CFM) is important, but if the intake flows more air, but that air is hot, you'll likely see a loss in horsepower and more stress on your engine. Pressurized, cool, dense air is the winning combination.

A Big Filter - Engineered Right
The Big-Ass filter sits angled down in the air box to prevent dirt and debris from getting wedged between the pleats. The massive 51-square-inch filter outlet Filter has over twice the airflow area of any intake currently on the market.
The Banks Super-Tube fits perfectly over the top of the Big-Ass Filter which has an integrated collar to smoothly transition airflow from the airbox and into the turbo with the lowest resistance and drag.

Bigger Is Better When Properly Engineered
While some brands go for bragging rights for the "biggest" by cramming more pleats into their air filters, they end up designing one that gets clogged quicker and flows less air. Just having the biggest-looking filter does not mean it will perform the best. The Banks Big-Ass Filter has an optimized ratio of filter surface area, pleat count, and media thickness allowing it to outflow every other filter while breathing evenly from all sides.

Core Returns

Core Return Instructions: STOP! Please read to avoid costly delays!

  • Step 1:  Verify the core will be received back within 30 days. (See Deadline)
  • Step 2: Fill out the Return Form.
  • Step 3: Wait for return instructions. SUP will email a return number (RMA) and a return shipping address. Many cores will be sent directly back to the manufacturer, so please read the instructions.
  • Step 4: Package the core. Good packaging prevents costly damage and/or the core being refused by the shipping carrier. It may be possible to reuse the box your original product came in. If not, use a box strong enough to support the product. Seal the product in a plastic bag to prevent leaks. Cushion the product with packing material and securely seal the package with tape.
